I am a normal boy working in financial IT. Still looking for my targets and goals. In a stable and lovely relationship with my bobo. Like playing sports, football, snooker, badminton in particular. I like music a lot as well. Dream Theatre is my favourite band. This blog is intended to share my thoughts and wills with my friends and family. Please feel free to leave comments.

1 week before going home

Oh boy, I am so looking forward to this 2 week long holiday.. I have been waiting, and waiting.. For my bobo, my family, my friends, food, gadgets, rest.... and, will I be able to drive in HK with my British driving licence?

One of my best friend came over to England from Hong Kong two weeks ago, and left yesterday. Only saw him about three times, a little bit disappointed.. But I knew I wasn't the reason that he came anyway, so it's ok..

Then next week some more best friends will come over for their graduation. Even though one of them is only staying for 15 hours, but it'll be good to see them..

Bought a gift for two friends today, and glad they like it. So I am happy, they're happy, wahey...

This blog entry is not an organised one.

Then this friend lent me her MD player, so that my old MDs (4+ years old) can now be played again!!!

Tiring but so goooood

A lot happened during this weekend.

Friday (7/10):
Not a very busy day at work. A colleague is going to New York for work for few weeks, so went to the Larrik (pub near office) to have a drink. It meant to be a quick one as I was supposed to go to bed early. But it turned out that we finished at 11:30pm, then kebab.
So got home at 1am, then this colleague came to my flat and said he had missed his last train.. haha.

Saturday (8/10):
This also means that I only had 4 hours of sleep, before I went to Paddington to pick my friend up from Heathrow Express. We then got straight back to my flat, left the luggage, and off again to Marble Arch to meet the other two (KC + HK), and off we went to our road trip. And where to? OLD TRAFFORD in bloody MANCHESTER!!!

England vs Austria, kick off at 4pm, left Marble Arch at 10am, on a Ford Focus 1.6L.

HK drove us all the way to there, stopping once in a service near Birmingham, congestion started after Birmingham, as people all heading to Manchester. We parked the car at about 3:10pm at a temporary car park near the stadium.

And...

The match was bad. England won from a penalty, taken by Lampard, and Beckham got sent off, and Campbell and Gerrard got injured. But luckily we came to this match, not Wednesday's.

We then headed to Manchester City centre for dinner, had some Thai. This is the second time I come to this city. And still remember the first time, sweet half term trip with my bobo, almost 5.5 years ago.

Then we drove down. Sing drove the first half, to a service near Birmingham (again), and then I finished it off, all the way to my flat. Thank HK and KC for driving the car back, and returning it, and everything :-)

My first road trip with friends, and it was goooood.

Photos can be effective

I feel I have to share this with my love ones. It's astonishing how many tragic events happen in the world every day, and also it's amazing how photos can reflect the reality, in a very effective way.

(This is the reason I love BBC)

Please spend half an hour reading through the articles for each of the five pictures (see right hand side of that page).

Please give comments here after reading it.

Thank you.

Be productive (trying to)

I think I have been wasting a lot of times when I am not at work. In the evenings, I can easily spend the whole evening browsing the net, playing psp and read a bit and sleep. Alternatively, I can do some music, do some not-related-to-work programming, study, etc...

So, I have started writing a program for myself this weekend. Having not gone out on Saturday, I instead sat at home and wrote a program for counting mahjong points. I know it doesn't sound good, but it's so far interesting. And I don't think I will still want to do any coding on week-days after work, so my plan for next week is to do some music, and programming on weekends. Let's see how long I can keep this up. OOh, by the way, the plan will be interrupted by next week World Cup qualifier England vs Austria, because I WILL BE THERE!!!

Another wonderful football day today, apart from Liverpool losing to Chelsea (4-1, can you believe it?!?!?). We played in Regent's Park (as usual), for ~ 4 hours. And I scored twice, 1 own goal and 1 proper goal. I think my fitness is coming back.
